El acuario de Shedd (formalmente el acuario de Juan G. Shedd) es un acuario público cubierto en Chicago, Illinois en los Estados Unidos que se abrió el 30 de mayo de 1930. El acuario contiene 32.000 animales, y era por algún tiempo el acuario más grande de interior en el mundo con 5.000.000 de galones estadounidenses (19.000.000 l, 4.200.000 imp gal) de agua.
Shedd Aquarium fue el primer acuario del interior con una colección permanente de peces de agua salada. Ubicado en el lago Michigan, está rodeado por el Museo Campus Chicago, que comparte con el Planetario Adler y el Museo Field de Historia Natural. El Museo de Ciencia e Industria (MSI) se encuentra en Chicago, Illinois, en Jackson Park, en el barrio de Hyde Park, entre el Lago Michigan y la Universidad de Chicago. Se aloja en el antiguo Palacio de Bellas Artes de la Exposición Colombiana Mundial de 1893.

El museo de DuSable de la historia afroamericana se dedica al estudio y la conservación de la historia, de la cultura, y del arte afroamericano.
Fue fundado en 1961 por la Dra. Margaret Taylor-Burroughs, su esposo Charles Burroughs, Gerard Lew, Eugene Feldman y otros. Taylor-Burroughs y otros fundadores establecieron el museo para celebrar la cultura negra, en el momento pasado por alto por la mayoría de los museos y establecimientos académicos.
El museo está ubicado en 740 E. 56th Place en la esquina de Cottage Grove Avenue en Washington Park, en el lado sur de Chicago. (more…)
